My husband noticed:
H: I bet you will not finish it this year! And even if you do, you won’t be able to take good photos in late autumn.
Me: Really? The forecast is good this weekend …
H: Yea, but this thing hardly covers your bust! (indeed! :)) It’s a lot of work!
Me: What would you say if I finish it as a mini dress by Sunday? 🙂
H: Lol, but not just covering your butt a bit!!! 🙂 Not any cheap hooker look, you shall look decent in your age so we could go to a restaurant together! Ok, I’m pretty sure you won’t finish it, so I can promise you that cone of yarn (pointing out at one of my cones and laughing).
Me: You must be kidding 🙂 Ok, deal! And you will help me with photos, right? 🙂
I had a long way to go till I finish the flared skirt and just 3 evenings till the weekend. Since he’s mentioned the length, but not the width of the skirt I decided to crochet it straight, making only two increases for hips. Luckily the silk yarn stretched a bit and the length was almost perfect! Well, I had no time to dry this silk dress properly after washing. So, I put my moist project on a radiator for drying, hope it won’t damage the fiber. Here is the result and I’m expecting a new cone :). Great incentive! 🙂
After a couple of days I’ve published this detailed crochet PATTERN:
