AMBIANCE ORIGAMI: Sweater Crochet Pattern – published!

I don’t want to challenge conventions of beauty and create something ill-fitting that swamps the body and uses enormous amount of yarn. So, even if every catwalk seems to show oversize and awkward looking chunky knits I prefer wearing more proportional and comfortable clothes. Especially if they are oversized :).

And I’m very happy that regardless of this trend for strange-looking fashion, my oversize top became popular on http://www.lovecrochet.com  – I see it regularly among their hottest tops. Yea, I finally published several patterns there :).

Or maybe it’s because it’s dressier and sharper than a conventional tee and people love timeless appeal? 🙂

I suggest to crochet it in white because

  1. White tops are hot weather appropriate, they make any outfit look crisp, modern and fresh.
  2. They are great if you are tired of darker winter garments and want to lighten up.
  3. White tops look perfect with lots of other colors, they are wardrobe essential for any style.

 Why Freelancer Top? 🙂

Because all patterns are created in my free time 😉. This is the most flexible occupation for a self-taught crocheter where one can pick a beautiful yarn, guess what it wants to be, freelance a skill one already has, and then wear whatever one wants!

Now I feel like creating and wearing simple and sporty garments that flatter my rectangular body type, can be worn at any leisure occasion, and make me look younger than my 44 😉. I’ll surely let you know when my fingers are itchy to make something more elaborated 😉. Though If YOU want to crochet something more challenging right now – please browse http://conceptcreative.store. Have fun in any case! 😉

I opted for a cake yarn for the first time. Its color changes added more visual interest to the simple stitches. The drapey yarn turned some excessive width into length while the scalloped fringed edge made this top look quite dynamic and proportional. It was designed to give the wearer an energetic boost and positive attitude of a Freelancer! 😉 Feel young and free, capture the mood of the moment and be in control of your own life!

Trendy hoodie PATTERN with round motifs – 2018 it was published, see what to make next

When I reached the armholes I thought of simplifying the process – follow the oversize-trend and make drop shoulders with straight sleeves. But a closer look at any project with such construction revealed huge hanging pieces at armholes. Do I want to make another beautiful top or finish it as soon as possible, and even use more yarn than it’s needed at armholes? So again, I made my normal set-in sleeves :). Maybe there are women who look beautiful in oversize clothes – it’s easy to crochet any T-shape, but garments that fit well are still more appealing to me.

Similar crochet tunic features beautiful cold shoulder cut outs allowing you to be elegant and sexy without being overexposed. This is one of my favorite styles, partly because it suits not only young girls but classy women who like to wear feminine and trendy crochet garments. And partly because this tunic is so versatile and flattering! Want to look instantly cool? Pair it with fitted jeans and basic tops to show off your tanned shoulders. For bohemian appeal team it with long skirts and fancy earrings.

Origami knit sweater

Paper folding technique where several sheets are arranged into interesting shapes is a very entertaining game for people of all ages. But do you know that with similar technique, you can create a sweater or even a sweater dress that requires minimum of shaping and uses creative and practical heuristic approach to knit a garment?

The construction of this sweater is very simple: front, back and sleeves are worked back and forth in long straight 4 panels till you get accustomed to constantly repeated rows – browse photos to see how front, back and sleeves are arranged around neckline. Then the decrease is made at one side of each panel (in most rows you will decrease 1 stitch only). Finally everything is folded (as in origami) and sewn together. And best of all – all 4 panels are worked the same way! Thus, every new panel will be knitted faster because you already have relevant past experience.

Mohair crochet sweater – PATTERN

It’s a bit difficult to think of a nice sweater if you love minimalism, crochet, but hate sweaters made entirely in double crochet stitches. Yep, minimalism forever, but not as boring 😊. Also out of questions are things crocheted with one stitch-pattern, then with second, third. It should be something nice, wearable and catching.

This sweater was made with stashed mohair: 2 skeins remaining from this project  and 3 skeins of white mohair, all bought 7-8 years ago.  My mohair/nylon had 600 m per 100 gr-weight.

The sporty chic sweater crochet pattern is available here:

https://www.ravelry.com/designers/conceptcreativestore

You will receive:

► detailed instructions in English with charts and their written explanation (in case you are not used to work with the crochet diagrams). Keep the original margins of the file.

This crochet tutorial is provided for sizes:

XS-S with bust measured 82-86 cm (32-34’’);
S-M with bust measured 90-95 cm (35.5-37.5’’);
M-L with bust measured 98-104 cm (38.5-41’’);
L-XL with bust measured 106-112 cm (41.5-44’’).

The garment is seamless and is worked in the round.
