It’s been a long story about this crochet top designed by Swedish company Odd Molly. I came across these photos several years ago and saved them to my laptop. The initial price in http://www.bernardboutique.com/ was 228 Euro, currently the top is sold out. It was interesting to crack the round motif in front and draw HQ charts. And finally, after I had completed that central motif, why not to crochet the whole garment? : ))
It is peculiar that Odd Molly has officially published two versions of the top. The first one had more double crochet stitches in the main pattern and 19 sectors in the centre of the motif (I have numbered them in the 3rd photo). Shell motifs of the main pattern have 10 dc stitches (in US crochet terminology).
The second version was probably done by another crocheter who did 21 sectors in the centre of the motif (I have numbered them in the 4th photo) and fewer double crochet stitches in the main pattern. Actually in the below photos you can see that central motif looks not as round and hangs more towards the bottom (maybe because of two additional sectors?). Shell motifs of the main pattern have 8 dc stitches.
Both versions have 16 sectors in the final row of the central motif.
There are some other differences, but since I liked the first version more, I reconstructured it. My project can be seen on Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/CONCEPTcreative
And the pattern for the first version of the top is available on Etsy, Ravelry, Craftsy and in my store:
