Crochet knee length skirt – PATTERN

The beach dress with open back looks rather good on slim women, therefore I have not written the stitches for many sizes. However, the same pattern can be used in a skirt – browse photos on Etsy how it might look like:

I have calculated the stitches of the bottom part of the original dress so it might be worked as a knee length SKIRT. Pattern is available here:

Black top/skirt with the central blue panel – PATTERN

Once again I was crocheting with black yarn and wanted to make black motifs in this top somewhat more visible. Why not to emphasize the central panel of 4 round motifs with another colour?

The openwork pattern reminds me of the fine craftsmanship – beautifully carved intricate geometric ornaments in the Eastern architecture. For example these elaborate designs are from Marrakech:

Museum Dar Si Said    Marrakech

The panel with the “crochet carving” : )  is in front of the top, back is made in the triangle shape – it widens towards the bottom and slightly drapes around hips:

This beautiful crochet top is a practical choice for days when you want to be both chic and comfortable. It can be worn during pregnancy – it’s fitted at bust level with positive ease over your belly. The design allows to convert it into a knee length skirt. Back is made in one piece so that this garment widens towards the bottom. The garment is convertible – you can wear it with a black bra so it becomes lovely summer top. Or choose any matching top/sweater to wear with your knee length skirt:

Maxi skirt in pale aubergine colour – PATTERN

One of the latest maxi skirts was made with 100 % rayon thread. My local yarn shop has received it from producer by mistake and it was the only shade available. I’m not sure whether the colour settings of your screen show it correctly, but I loved this pale aubergine rayon thread from the first sight.

Skirt features several sheer panels, so my slip in burgundy colour was a great match.

Winter photo-shooting took not a long time, the snow was already melting because of mild temperature in this time of the year. Sure enough I was glad to wear pullover afterwards : )).

I’m going to make a couple of photos in summer, so far I have tried it as a strapless dress at home to see how it would look. Not bad at all, I think, but straps would give an accomplished look. As a maxi skirt it does looks better and I have several suitable top tanks and jacket to wear with.

Geometry in crochet – triangle and diagonal skirt – PATTERN

One of the latest maxi skirts was made with mixed bamboo/rayon/linen yarn. It was quite interesting to crochet because skirt was worked in one piece and two colours were combined in a composition of stripes and triangles.

All photos are clickable!

Crochet skirt pattern. Geometric patterns make crochet garments visually effective – you can count on this skirt with asymmetric hem to bring more dynamic to your look. Combining two colours is a great way to grab a lot of attention, but balance one bright colour with a softer one, see what beautiful variations you can come up with.

I have tried it as a strapless dress and it looked stunning too. The skirt is quite stretchable and fits hips 94-102 cm (37-40”). It drapes well,  but sometimes little ruffles are needed to avoid excessive draping. Here is variant with four little ruffles:

Shorter variants of the same skirt:

Crochet SKIRT Odd Molly – detailed PATTERN (scroll down)

This skirt was also inspired by the Odd Molly design, however I put my changes into it. First of all I wanted to try Tenerife crochet (with circular crochet loom) for the round motives. Then instead of boring crochet net (5 chains, 1 sc) I’ve completely changed the main pattern. Here how it looks like:

Maxi crochet skirt PATTERN for sizes Xs-XL, crochet TUTORIAL in English

In summer I wear it with a top and in spring or fall it looks wonderfully with a jacket. More photos (all are clickable!):

Definitely maxi skirt is a thing everybody pays attention to : )). It can be easily transformed to a strapless dress (it has an elastic band).

Though I’ve realized that big square motif on a belly  looks gorgeous on a model that poses 10-15 minutes for a camera but completely unpractical in real life – it becomes shifted after 5-10 minutes walking.  So, I’ve decided to repeat the same skirt without annoying belly motif – I got tired turning it back in place every now and then. The new skirt will be with the complete loop of square motifs in the top of the skirt (uninterrupted by big square motif) like in this photos:
